Who are you, and what products do you design for your brand?
My name is Airy, and I am the director and designer for Reflection. Reflection is a lifestyle brand that primarily focuses on minimal, timeless jewellery and print designs for garments and accessories. Inspired by nature, art, literature, and the Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic value, we hope our collections bring you timeless style, strength, peace, and joy. We aim to brighten up your day with our pieces and hope you find your poetry in our journey.
How and when did you start your brand?
I just started the brand in April of last year! I guess that is a gift and challenge I gave to myself in my 30s. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2015, I have worked in the fashion industry and for jewellery brands as a visual designer for years. I worked for different kinds of high street, luxury, and designer brands. I guess this is a path I needed to go through to gain and collect skills and experiences from each brand. I did all the branding, shooting, art direction, product curation, and print design by myself for REFLECTION.

What are your sources of inspiration?
My inspiration comes from various forms of art, literature, and nature, such as the organic lines in architecture, the tiles in temples, and the scenes in nature, such as dew on the leaf tip. It is always a good idea to take a spontaneous trip, wandering in the museum, to have an adventure in search of inspiration.
How would you describe your design/product concept?
“Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” - Oscar Wilde. Inspired by the fascination with the galaxy in science fiction, films, and the ancient Greek epic poem - Odyssey by Homer, the new collection - Moonlight Odyssey - is about exploring the unknown and pursuing dreams with faith. All the products in this collection use freshwater pearls to depict the sparkling stars in the galaxy and apply the journey to the moon as a metaphor for pursuing one's dreams. We hope that the jewellery in this collection is not only an accessory for styling but also a keepsake that gives you timeless courage and strength to follow your heart.

What is your dream project? If there are no limitations, what would you create?
I would love to do print design on garments as well. I am interested in seeking out some crossover collaborations with clothing brands. Additionally, I am interested in fine art and installation art projects.
How do you feel about participating in London Accessory Week?
I am excited and thrilled to showcase my designs in person at LAW this year. As London is a city full of memories for me, it means a lot to participate in LAW. I completed my MA at CSM, did internships, and worked for several brands in London. It means a lot to me to return for this exhibition.
