How and when did you start your brand?
I have started on Etsy two years ago, and now I have my own stand-alone website. Nearly all my wigs are synthetic, the highest quality synthetic fibres on the market today, using surgical plastics, all with fringes making it so easy to change your look. Definitely a great wig for beginners and for the expert with no time for glueing and fixing. My wigs need none of this; adjustable tabs at the back of the cap make it easy to secure or tighten for sports or vigorous activities. I always tighten my wigs when I am on the bike with my daughters for example. I am starting now to have Human Hair Toppers and Full wigs, so watch this space.
For you, what is the best part of starting your own label?
I love to hear how happy my clients are with their wigs and I am able to restore the confidence lost in a lot of cases. But also, I have a lot of clients that just want to change up their hairstyle and have fun with wigs. All my clients are so happy with their wigs and the beautiful boxes and packaging that my wigs come in. I try to make it an experience. I know how exciting it is to receive a wig, and I love the idea that I can give that to my beautiful clients. They almost all come back and buy from me again.
What's the proudest moment in your brand owner or artistic career? What makes you a happy creator?
I think of all the excellent reviews I receive and once an order is received, I love to open messages of such joy. Lots of people tell me how they have lost their confidence through alopecia and are able to feel themselves again. This always brings a tear to my eye! Who can wear or use your products? The great thing about my wigs is that everyone can use them and they definitely put a sparkle into your step.
Apart from the passion to make wigs, what drives you?
Everything I do is for my beautiful daughters Sophia & Olivia. But I do feel really empowered when I hear about how much my clients love their new hair! We would love to hear about your studio/making time and how you connect with your clients. I love to connect with my clients so always encourage them to get in contact and let me know any questions or ideas they have. I also make personalised wigs, if you have a photo or style idea and colour I can do a very good matching service.
What skills are necessary to be a successful creator? Do you have any tips for aspiring artists who want to start their own brand?
Never give up and persevere. I was told by everyone that it wouldn't work and no one wants wigs! But, it is the best thing I ever did. I found my passion and I did it from a bad place, having lost my hair - I made lemonade from lemons.
